MEET: GRAFFITI WELFARE

Friday Night Border Crossing

One of the most pleasant surprises in recent days is being able to discover artists that are willing to challenge themselves by creating music that goes beyond what most people expect, they are willing to trust in their instincts and work and grow. As an example of this, is the most recent appearance of Graffiti Welfare, a solo project from Denver, Colorado.

Also known as George Lattimore, he has been working on this project for the last five years, after being able to process the impression that artists and bands like Animal Collective, Tame Impala,Radiohead and Miles Davis left on him, years after discovering the music of Beach Boys alongside his father. He then, started working and recording, this making him record an EP of songs like Charlie Brown, a song that says: "even Charlie Brown can't always be down, he just needs a spark".

Now,after five years of hard work, he will release a new album titled Revolving Shores, a more deep and personal record that was a creative therapy for anxiety, loss, and finishing grad school. A record with more complex tracks of psych-pop and ambient like Volume. The album was mastered at The Wheelhouse Studio in Golden, Colorado, Revolving Shores is a cosmic washing machine of pop nostalgia for the wandering soul.
